MUSEO DE BELLAS ARTES

Located in an old convent, this Seville art gallery is currently considered to be one of the most important in Spain. Home to a collection of Andalusian 19th century painting, it also houses temporary exhibitions of Baroque painting, which are essential to gain an insight into this artistic movement both locally and nationally. Its twin function as an art gallery and convent have converted it into a work of art in itself.

Did you know? Despite its local and national success, a lot of its material was lost in the repeated sackings it suffered during the French invasion in 1810. But for those, it would now be one of the most important art galleries not only in Europe, but worldwide.
